MOMS' SUPPORT GROUP/UNDERSTANDING DAD

Program Overview
Moms' Support Group is a faith-based, research, and evidence-supported parenting group created especially for mothers. An important aspect of the program is healing from the past so that individuals can move forward successfully in life.
Program Outcomes

Increase in mothers’ knowledge, positive attitudes & skills associated with improving their relationships with the fathers of their children

Program Curriculum
The majority of the course curriculum comes from three book sources, each of which are listed below.
Understanding Dad
by the National Fatherhood Initiative
Understanding Dad is a research and evidence-based curriculum, funded by The Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention, with the goal of improving awareness and communication between parents and increase paternal involvement for the sake of their children.
Keep Your Love On
by Danny Silk

Keep Your Love On is also used in this course to teach parents the importance of Connection, Communication, and Boundaries.
Dismantling The Wall Between You and God

All VFS classes are provided at no cost to the participant.
Graduates receive a certificate upon completion recognized by the court as a parenting support program.
